IMPORTANT NOTICE – MARCH 31, 2020: The Horse Progress Days Board of Directors is keeping a close eye on the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic as it unfolds around the world and in our communities. We will be making a decision by April 16, 2020 about whether or not to postpone the event until 2021.
The local planners welcome you to our 27th annual Horse Progress Days at Mount Hope in the heart of Holmes County, Ohio, home to the world’s largest Amish community and where farming is still done with horses. In addition to the many local horse-powered farms, you will find that everything that goes with working horses is available right here. Equipment and carriages, straw hats and ox bows, harness and tack, collars, feed, farrier and health products; all can be found locally.
The purpose of Horse Progress Days is to showcase the complete line-up of the latest equipment innovations and hitching techniques in the Draft Horse Industry. There will be educational seminars and clinics to guide you on your journey with Draft Animals, whether you are just getting started or are looking for ways to broaden your knowledge.
Come and see the horses up close and in action. You will see many different Draft Horse breeds, plus mules, ponies, and oxen; in harness, doing what they do best. You will see hitches from one to twelve demonstrating plowing, tillage, haymaking, produce farming, logging, and more.
Bring the whole family to this event; there is truly “Something for Everyone”. The rolling hills and sprawling farms of Holmes County Ohio are beautiful; enjoy them, be our guest, slow down, drive safely, and come again.
